Details of visit:

After a year of research under supervision of PD. Dr. Silke Härteis and Prof. Dr. Christoph Korbmacher at FAU I recently started my six months stay on the topic of polycystic kidney disease at Prof. Somlo’s lab at Yale.

Since I have assessed the properties of TRPV4 and PC2 with electrophysiological techniques so far, I greatly appreciate the possibility to approach the topic from a molecular biological point of view. It is a huge honor for me to pursue my project in the research group of Professor Somlo who is an internationally recognized expert and leader in the field of PKD. I am very glad to be trained by the extraordinarily skilled and experienced scientists in his lab who included me unhesitatingly in their group.

Yale is one of the most reputable universities all over the world and provides numerous offers for academic and cultural enrichment such as talks from renowned experts, scientific seminars and magnificent art galleries.

I am grateful to the TRENAL program and my mentors in Erlangen and Yale for providing me the opportunity to develop my scientific skills at this distinguished place.
