The six months of support from the TRENAL network were perfect to start off my project. During this time, I became familiar with the technique of IMC and mainly focused on validating antibodies to detect regulated cell death. Now I get to further pursue the project with support from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for another 18 months.
The aim of the project entitled “Mechanistic characterization of the pathogenesis of glomerulonephritides using imaging mass cytometry” is to characterize ANCA vasculitis and lupus nephritis more precisely by quantitative analysis of relevant cellular, immunological and damage markers in the glomerulus and renal parenchyma.
Coming to Yale with the TRENAL scholarship was perfect to get started on the project. Thank you again to everyone who made this possible.
