Our group is interested in vascular biology with special focus on autoimmune vasculitis. Patients develop autoantibodies against neutrophil and monocyte constituents, so-called called anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies (ANCA). The major ANCA target antigens are myeloperoxidase (MPO) and proteinase 3 (PR3). We study disease mechanisms with the goal to characterize novel treatment targets.
