After spending six months in the lab lead by Prof. Dr. Ute Scholl, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Prof. Scholl for mentoring me and providing me the opportunity of going to New Haven.
Back in Berlin, as well as here at YALE University, I am currently researching on the development of adrenocortical carcinoma, a highly aggressive and lethal carcinoma.
Starting in Germany, I learned there the basic lab-work knowledge and the structure of a lab-routine. Here in New Haven, I have the opportunity of applying my knowledge, as well as extend it during my daily lab work. It is a real honor and enrichment working side by side with highly intelligent and inspiring people around the world. The atmosphere here, at Yale is quite motivating. In particular because of Dr. Carling and Dr. Korah, who integrated me here very well.
Reflected upon the scientific background, going abroad enlarged and enhanced my abilities, as well as my knowledge.
My aim is, to provide a small contribution in research for adrenocortical carcinoma.
Moreover, compared to Berlin, my hometown, New Haven is not that lively or vibrant, but nonetheless, New Haven is a nice smaller town with an outstanding academic spirit. In addition, you have the chance to get to listen to so many talks from experts from all over the world, an outstanding pleasure!
